Whether you’re visiting for a few days or planning an extended stay, there is plenty to keep you busy in Tulsa. Situated on the Arkansas River, Oklahoma’s second-largest city offers everything a big city should, but its great people lend a small-town warmth that will make you feel at ease the moment you cross the city line.

Arts & Museums

Tulsa has one of the largest art communities in the nation. Beautiful architecture is around every corner in the Deco District, which boasts such buildings as the Philtower and Atlas Life. If you’d like to learn more about the history of the city, the Historical Society offers tours out of the Travis Mansion.

Explore a large collection of Native American art at the Philbrook Museum of Art or the Gilcrease Museum. Take in a show at the historic Brady Theater or enjoy a ballet performance at the Chapman Music Hall.

Sports & Recreation

If you’re the adventurous type, there’s plenty to keep you entertained throughout the city. Cheer on the Oilers hockey team at BOK Center, or root for the Drillers baseball team at ONEOK Field. Play a round of golf at the Cherokee Hills Golf Course, one of 14 public courses in the area.

Getting outdoors is a great way to explore the city. Take a hike through Turkey Mountain, which offers a gorgeous view of the Arkansas River. Enjoy a picnic at one of the 135 parks in the area or bike along the River Parks trails.

Family Fun

There’s plenty for the kids to do in the city. The local zoo is always a big hit with the family, and it is home to more than 1,500 animals. The Oklahoma Aquarium is another fun option because the kids can enjoy hands-on experiences like the feed shows and touch tanks. There are also 20 bull sharks in the aquarium that can be seen overhead while walking through the indoor tunnel.

The kids can enjoy a day of swimming at Safari Joe’s H2O Water Park, learn new things at the Discovery Lab at the city’s children’s museum, or bounce out some of their energy at Sky Zone trampoline park. In addition, nearly year-round there are plenty of festivals to keep the family occupied while they visit the city.

Nightlife and Entertainment

The city has an abundance of exciting things for adults to see and do. During the day, a brewery or wine tour can be a great way to unwind while also learning a bit about the area’s history. Cabin Boys Brewery, Dead Armadillo Craft Brewing, and Heirloom Rustic Ales are just a few breweries that offer tap room events and tours. Gander Way Vineyards, Nuyaka Creek Winery, and Whispering Vines Vineyards all offer tours and special events.

If you’re feeling lucky, take a gamble on one of the city’s three casinos. The Hard Rock Casino, Osage Casino, and River Spirit Casino are all there to suit your gaming needs.
